Kes baharu COVID-19 telah melonjak ke 27,831 kes semalam (16 Februari 2022). Rekod tertinggi sebelum ini adalah pada 21 Ogos 2021 dengan 22,262 kes baharu.
Perbandingan antara kedua-dua situasi ini menunjukkan kadar kebolehjangkitan COVID-19 atau Ro/Rt pada 16 Februari 2022 untuk seluruh negara adalah 1.32, berbanding kadar Ro/Rt 1.04 pada 21 Ogos 2021. Ini menunjukkan kadar kebolehjangkitan semasa adalah lebih tinggi dan ini berkemungkinan besar disebabkan oleh gelombang Omicron.
Namun, kadar vaksinasi semasa yang tinggi termasuk pengambilan dos penggalak telah menurunkan bilangan kemasukan ke hospital, ICU dan kematian akibat COVID-19, berbanding dengan situasi pada 21 Ogos 2021.
Ambil dos penggalak, terus amalkan 3W (Wash, Wear, Warn) dan elakkan 3S (Sesak, Sempit dan Sembang dekat), pastikan pengudaran yang baik serta pematuhan SOP bagi mengurangkan risiko jangkitan COVID-19.

The new COVID-19 case jumped to 27,831 cases yesterday (16 February 2022). The previous recorded high cases were on 21 August 2021, with 22,262 cases.
A comparison between these two situations shows that the COVID-19 infectious rate or Ro/Rt on 16 February 2022 for the whole country was 1.32, compared to the Ro/Rt rate of 1.04 on 21 August 2021. This indicates that the current infectious rate is higher, and this is most likely caused by the Omicron wave.
However, current high vaccination rates including booster dose intake have lowered the number of hospital admissions, ICUs, and deaths due to COVID-19, compared to the situation on 21 August 2021.
